After losing the first Test in Sylhet by 328 runs, Bangladesh suffered a big defeat in the second Test in Chittagong.
The visitors won by 192 runs on the fifth day of the series-deciding match at the Zahoor Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Wednesday.
After winning the toss and batting first, Sri Lanka scored 531 runs with six batsmen in the first innings. In reply, the hosts were able to score 178 runs after losing all their wickets in the first innings.
With a lead of 350 runs in the first innings, Sri Lanka lost seven wickets and declared the innings at 157 runs. Bangladesh got a target of 511 runs.
While Vishal did not bat as disappointingly as the first innings while chasing this target, the Tigers' run stopped far away from victory. Muminul Haque and Mehdi Hasan Miraj's pair of half-centuries made the visitors 318 runs.
Sri Lanka won the series by 2-0 with this win. Kamindu Mendis was awarded Player of the Match and Player of the Series by showing his skills with bat and ball.
